Website redesign

Website redesign for Perth businesses

Your site looks tired, but it still earns something. We redesign on WordPress, Shopify and WooCommerce with the pages that bring customers in firmly in view.

In short

A website redesign replaces how your site looks and works while keeping what already brings in customers. Candour Media Solutions runs each website redesign in Perth and across Australia on WordPress, Shopify or WooCommerce, and plans for URLs, redirects and post-launch checks from the start.

Redesign or repair

You may not need a website rebuild

Fixes are probably enough

  • The design still suits your brand
  • The site is sound, just slow in places
  • Pages need clearer words or calls to action
  • A few pages underperform and the rest are fine

A redesign is worth it

  • The site looks dated beside your competitors
  • It’s hard to use on a phone
  • Your brand or services have moved on
  • You can’t change anything without help
  • The platform can’t do what you now need

How a redesign keeps what Google already knows

Google knows your site by its addresses. Each page has a URL, and over time that URL gathers rankings and links from other sites. Change the address without saying so and the page can fall out of search, along with its visitors.

The simplest protection is to keep URLs that work. Where one has to change, a permanent redirect sends people and Google to the new address. Google’s site move guidance asks for a map of old URLs to new, and for redirects to stay up as long as possible, generally at least a year.

Then there are the words. A page often ranks because of what it says, so we’re careful with copy, titles and headings that are already doing a job. Cutting them for a cleaner layout is a common way good pages lose ground.

Step by step

How a website redesign in Perth runs

  1. Record what’s working

We note which pages bring in traffic and enquiries, so we know what to protect before the design starts.

  2. Map old addresses to new

URLs stay where they can. Those that must change get a new address on the list before anything goes live.

  3. Redesign around your content

We take your existing content and give it a modern, responsive design. If the site needs new imagery, we can produce that too.

  4. Switch on the redirects

We plan for redirects to go live with the new site, so old links and bookmarks lead somewhere useful.

  5. Check and watch

We check pages, forms and redirects, then watch traffic on old and new URLs while Google catches up.

Straight answers

Frequently asked questions

Will a website redesign hurt my Google rankings?

It can, particularly if URLs change without redirects. Keeping URLs or redirecting them properly reduces the risk, but some short-term movement is normal and nobody can guarantee rankings through a redesign.

What sets the price of a redesign?

Mostly how much has to move. The number of pages, how much content needs reworking, whether the platform changes and how many URLs need redirecting all feed the quote, and we don’t publish a set fee.

Should I redesign or build a new website?

Redesign if your content and URLs are worth keeping. Start again if the platform itself is the problem or the site has earned very little. Either way, the old site is worth reading first, because it shows what customers responded to. Our websites and online stores page covers new builds.

Can you redesign a website someone else built?

Yes. We take your existing site and content as the starting point. We’ll need access to the domain, the hosting and the platform, so it helps to track down those logins early.

Does moving to Shopify change my URLs?

Usually, yes. Shopify uses its own link structure, so a page such as a shipping policy can land at a new address. Redirects from old to new protect customers’ bookmarks and links from other sites.

Will my ads still work during a redesign?

They can, as long as the pages they point to still exist or redirect. Tell us about any live online advertising at the start, so those landing pages go on the list.
